I had been to the UK for around a month during Feb-Mar’23. It was a work trip interspersed with sight seeing and a lot of driving. I ended up driving over 3500kms during the time I was there.
I landed at Heathrow airport and after the usual mess at immigration that Heathrow is known for, headed to pick up the rental car. I had a booked a VW Polo Automatic as I wanted something small which is useful in UK. However, there was no Polo available so they did a free upgrade to Audi Q2 Tsi (non quattro). This was going to be my ride for the subsequent three odd weeks. It was a 1.5 litre TSI and power was adequate upto around 80mph. That was fine since most freeway speed limits were 70mph at best. Only thing I sorely missed was the quattro, especially since there was considerable snowfall in Scotland. More on that later.
I stayed in an apartment in the outskirts of London and usually drove around whenever I had an off day or two. As for London, I just took the train as it was much more convenient. This is mostly going to be a series of photos with some captions every now and then. I didn’t carry my camera, so all photos shot with my good old iphone 11.
