2007 328xi E91, just put my winter wheels and tires on from my last BMW — OEM wheels and TPMS sensors. TPMS light came on and will not reset. Like won’t even TRY to reset. When I hold down the button on the end of the stalk NOTHING happens. I do not get the ‘reset sensor’ option. Instructions are straightforward, I’m sure I’m doing it right, I simply don’t get the reset option. Thoughts?
Followup from the Pelican Staff: Try with key on engine OFF. BMW states it needs to be done with the engine ON. However, sometimes it hangs up. — Nick at Pelican Parts

Hi, I have tyre pressure warning light on 07 e90. I have recently swapped front left with front rightjust to keep tyre wear balanced could this cause warning light? Are tyres allocated to a position on the car on the monitoring system for tyre pressure? Thanks
Followup from the Pelican Staff: Yes, they should move location as you rotate them. You may need to perform a TPMS reset if the light is on. — Nick at Pelican Parts

My 2020 2 Series BMW coupe has low tire pressure light, probably due to low temps in Memphis, TN area since Nov. 11. Is this something that I will have every time the temps drop? I am a senior citizen, female, and not knowledgeable about how this works. Do I need to take it to dealer to reset or will it fix itself when the temps warm up in next several days/weeks? Got car new 4 months ago.
Followup from the Pelican Staff: You will have to check and adjust tire pressure. If already on the low side of the adjustment, lower temps will cause a drop again and set the warning light. — Nick at Pelican Parts

328i 2011 TPMS Finally found the module, small victory. Behind the rear wheel at the bottom of the well behind the skirt. Passenger side. Can the module be tested with an ohm meter?
TPMS warning light shows the system is inactive. Reset will not work.
Followup from the Pelican Staff: No it can not. It can only be tested using a scan tool. You can test power and ground to the module using a DVOm, to confirm it is getting what it needs to turn on. — Nick at Pelican Parts

Hey Nick, I’m working on a customer’s 2008 BMW 328Xi E90 and my scanner Creatdor C310 is saying «6051 RDC transmitter, rear left». Should I replace the Trigger Transmitter Rdc under the wheel well? Thanks!

I bought a 15 plate 1 serise last week and for some reason it comes up on the idrive system that my tires arent being monitored. When i click reset tire pressure it gets to 49% and then stops and says my tires can’t be monitored?
Followup from the Pelican Staff: Possible sensor or antenna fault. I would start by checking the vehicle for fault codes. If the system is not working properly, a fault code will be set. This will be your best bet when diagnosing. — Nick at Pelican Parts

I replaced the central module and all 4 tires sensors. It worked for about 5 minutes. I plugged in the module and it said right rear was low. Started to drive to station to fix it, by the time i got there. Inactive. hasn’t worked right since. I need a drink, Any ideas?
Followup from the Pelican Staff: Could be a wiring issue or faulty module. I would start by checking the vehicle for fault codes. If the system is not working properly, a fault code will be set. This will be your best bet when diagnosing. — Nick at Pelican Parts
Do It To Yourselfer April 14, 2017
I have an 2007 E92 335i — if I have to replace a TPMS sensor do I need to do any reprogramming or will the vehicle «automatically» relearn the new sensor ? One of your responses above indicated the sensors needed to be «trained to the vehicle» and I’m looking for more info on exactly what that involves.
If re-programming is required as it seems from your previous response is it something that can be done by a typical/advanced do it yourselfer — or is it something that requires special tools / software that only a dealer / specialty tire shop would have ?
And just wanted to say THANK YOU for posting these tech tips — I’ve read through many of them and they are very useful .
Followup from the Pelican Staff: To learn new sensors, you will need to reset via the iDrive of the stalk. Some models will struggle and require software update, depending on the wheel electronics. — Nick at Pelican Parts

HI every body
I thank you for the prompt response.
On october 17, 2016 I ask a question about TPMS for my bmw 320i xdrine 2016 with mag wheels. I bought 4 steel wheels for my winter tires. I am wondering if the tpms system will work.
I am so sorry but I forgot to tell you that this BMW has been bought in CANADA. And all the BMW sold in CANADA do not have TPMS. The tire inflation is monitored by the ABS system.
Again I am sorry about this omission.
Děkuji předem
Followup from the Pelican Staff: Then yes, if it is FTM not TPMS, the wheel speed sensors monitor wheel rotation, it will work the same with different wheels. — Nick at Pelican Parts
