GGuys I desperately need help I have a 05 Impressive wagon RS crank no start condition I have 12.8 V coming from battery checked the car’s ground using multimeter good changed both the crankshaft and the camshaft sensors and check them for resistance , good ,checked the timing belt looks brand new my timing marks line up perfectly ,I have Spark at the coils and getting fuel as I can smell it as I’m cranking. I even tried spraying starting fluid directly into the toddle body and starting it and it still doesn’t even sputter yet I have spark I really don’t understand what is going on Please help

Sounds like it might be electric. Did you try unplugging the maf sensor? Is the check engine light on?

Never had any check engine light on . The only light that would ever come on was the cruise control light every once in a while randomly and it would blink however since purchasing the vehicle mid December the cruise control has never worked. Just comes on and flashes randomly .

No I haven’t but I will now. And sorry for thr the poorly written post . when I first wrote it i posted it on my timeline and it was telling me I had a character limit so I had to try to squeeze it all together.. .

crank it an pull the plugs see if they are wet. try changing the plugs?

It’s never not started and has ran great since I bought it mid December but there was one time that it did die randomly 2 times back to back trying to take off from a stop but instantly fired up and that’s it. Never no long crank, or hesitation starting at all no warning lights. Idled at a smooth around 700 rpm .

crack a fuel line (are the fuel filter) take the pressure off it. put it back on try and start it then pull the line off see if your pressure returned.
i know you said it smells like fuel but

Even if fuel ends up being the issue I’m baffled that it don’t even sputterwgrn directly spraying starting fluid into the throttle body. Yet I tested a coil for spark on the front cylinder on both sides of the engine and the coil sparked on each side . How would it not start or at least sputter? It literally does nothing except crank. Although the 1st time I did spray starting fluid in it it didn’t do anything but the next morning when I went out there and tried it again it backfired a couple of big pops and that’s how I tried a little bit more and it didn’t do anything again

don’t know magic lol? i can’t say i have done much with staring fluid other then play with it drinking beer and playing with lighters

I just REALLY need my car to work and don’t understand how it can go from never showing any problem starting and never having any lights or anything before shitti g it off to go in store to 20 min just not starting at all . . . I can’t afford a mechanic and car is my only transportation and I work for myself and it’s going to kill my business I’ve worked so hard to start because I can’t get to jobs

Cars break down, especially one that’s nearly twenty years old. Sometimes you have to suck it up and take it to a mechanic when you can’t fix it yourself. Even I do it sometimes.

If it’s mechanical; it’s fuel, ignition, or compression.
Are the airways clear? check.
Are you getting fuel pressure to the fuel filter? check. Are you getting it to the fuel rail? check.
Are you getting spark on all cylinders (pull each spark plug to check)? check.
Are you getting compression to all cylinders? check.
If it’s not any of those things, it’s electronic.

AVLS started in 2006 for the USDM NA motors, but it was done via internal mechanism, quite a bit different than the AVCS we see on turbo motors, and the AUSspec car in the video above.

MY CAR STILL WONT START. I DONT THINK MY CAR HAS AN ACVS . ITS THE 2005 EJ25 5 SPEED MANUAL. THE OIL ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER FLUIDS IN THE CAR ARE ALL BRAND NEW. BRAND NEW AIR FILTER, CAM SHAFT SENSOR,CRANK SHAFT SENSOR,timing belt . It has to be a bad ground but I am not familiar with electrical work and reading diagrams and such. So frustrating.

You said everything about the engine in that video was the same as yours. The engine in that video has AVCS. You also said it sounds exactly the same. At 2:09 that engine is not cranking with compression. If your engine sounds like that, mechanical damage has happened and that’s why it wont fire..
My check engine light does illuminate when turning the key to the acc position but never has came on while driving . I’ve checked the timing belt throughly and it looked very new , not one bit of wear , tear ,or stress showing anywhere. My timing marks match absolutely perfect at the 12 0 clock position. Fuses are good and by sensors I meant the cam shaft a d crankshaft sensors. I have injector pulse . Battery is sitting at 12.8 v . I think it may be an electrical problem on the ground side but don’t understand car electrical engineering and systems to well and the negative distribution chart is impossible for me to follow with no previous dealings with such work. I’m at a total stand still . I do Don’t understand how goes from running just fine never having a problem starting to just no lights or nothing just go in the store come out and just don’t start I just don’t understand
