Had the red oil light pop up today, flashing and beeping. Pulled up at home and left the engine to cool off for tonight.
I know the oil level is fine in it with me checking it each week since i have dropped the oil around a month ago.
Im thinking i have probably a faulty sensor but not sure which it will be?
Any advice on where to look or what to change first before i go and spend alot of money?

I’ve had this problem for a time put a fault reader on and nothing,been over 100 miles comes on after 10 miles goes offf then radomly comes on,iv’e read faulty sensor lead could be at fault instrument cluster or oil pump,im going for sensor to start with.

If it’s the red light with an oil can then it’s it’s oil pressure (very serious!) If it’s the amber oil can with a wavy line underneath it’s the oil level warning. The oil level sensor is bolted to bottom the sump and also measures oil temperature. The oil level warning light coming on for no reason is another problem and not necessarily a simple one.

Had a fella look at it and he seems to think that it is the oil pump that’s at fault. I ran the engine for a few seconds and he instantly said I’d go for oil pump. It sound way too loud.

Loud? As long as he knows that this engine is always loud. If the DMF is a bit worn it’s really loud. I’d check the oil pressure first before getting too involved. You need to get the sump off to get at the oil pump. Festa has a neat trick for moving the engine around to do this. T:

Getting a fella to come and plug in a computer today that will read the pressure etc, see what it comes back with.
Is the oil pump a massive job? Or is it a driveway job if I got the right tools?

Had my friend come around today and the fault list was massive. He reset everything and then ran the thing again after clearing all the faults.
In the mean time we ran the van for no longer than 20 seconds, and as we shut it off I heard the screeching noise. I said to him that was the noise I heard last night. We ran the engine again and when we turned it off you can hear the noise coming from the turbo, guessed the turbo is goosed or on the way out. Called the sales garage we got the van from, 1 hour 30 minute drive away, and they said if you can get it back to us, we will fixed it seeming we have only had it for 1 month and probably covered less than 500 miles. I suppose they was hoping we wouldn’t / couldn’t get it there. So ordered a loader to take it on Monday morning, 9am and hopefully they sort the problem out. I’m literally thinking to ask for the money back I paid for the van and call it a day.

OIL pressure light flashing continuously when driving.

Hello, my ‘ oil pressure ‘ light is flashing continuously after my T6. 2016 105. Hits 2k revs. The pressure has been checked and is fine. The local garage have replaced a new oil pump, 2 oil filter changes, unblocked oil pick up pipe, 2 x pressure sensors, wire checked. The VW garage are also.

Oil Warning Light following service…

‘Oil level too high’ warning

Orange flashing oil light [Resolved: new loom]

Had an orange flashing oil can lit up today just after setting off, oil level checked ok. Happened a couple of times then stopped. Happened again after about 20 mins slowing down on the motorway to exit. Noticed oil temp reading was missing as well (just showing dashes). Van is a 2016 Highline.

Low Oil Pressure Warning Light !

Oil Volume Min To Max On Dipstick?

Changed my engine oil & filter and refilled with a measured 7.4 litres of oil. Checking after a long run the level is about 20% below max allowable on the dipstick. But — owner’s manual doesn’t say how much oil is required to fill from min to max (very, very, helpful). Anybody know? This is for.
