I have a 2017 M240i that used to show the helpful colours on the satnav when using it for directions.
I.e. a lovely thick red or orange line to show traffic in certain areas.
However recently i have noticed that the route is just a solid white line, regardless of road type, how much i zoom and whether or not i select or deselect the traffic options.
Has anybody else experienced this or know what the issue could be?
Like i said, i’ve tried turning the settings on and off; no difference

Funnily enough this has happened to me this week too. I normally have the map view showing traffic (grey and green coloured map) but it’s not working anymore.
I was going to phone the dealer to see if this is right but is interesting that you’re experiencing the same issue.

Sometimes the BMW servers go down. Bear in mind that their RTTI is from other BMW’s I believe not android users like google (or iOS for crapple)
This happened to me about 8 months ago for a day or two then it all came back

Make sure you’re signed into the Connected Drive services in the car. Deep within the options menu somewhere. Very poor documentation around this side of things.

I had this problem a while back and the fix (after a call to BMW) was to update the software, which I was able to do myself by selecting software update from one of the menus behind the Options button. Probably Maps/Options. afraid I’m not in the car at the moment so I can’t check. But mine’s 2013 M135i with Pro Nav, so possibly different to yours.

the Nav is telling me i will be somewhere in 20mins and its taking 50 mins due to traffic. It always used to account for traffic, showing me yellow colours etc, but no joy at the moment

I might be the only one but I think BMW RTTI is next to useless anyway.
Quite often I’ll be on an empty road only for the map to have a thick red line suggesting it’s jammed. On the other hand, I’ll round a corner to meet a massive traffic jam but the BMW RTTI shows a green line.
If I really need accurate traffic information I’ll whip out Waze.

i guess my issue is that im not getting any coloured lines, at all.
just a white line all the way home, even when im stuck in standstill traffic
is it something that is coded on/off?

It does depend on whether you are on Motorways, Dual-carriageways or A / B roads. It doesn’t work on all roads.
Saying that, the other day it wasn’t working for me. it does seem to go up and down a bit.

I wonder if you’re all in a similar geographic area? The RTTI works fine (albeit inaccurate) for me.

Not working between Birmingham and Preston for me. Just keeps using the TMC network instead but in fairness I only re-subscribed to RTTI 3 days ago and despite having the confirmation email saying it’s active I get the feeling that BMW aren’t all that swift at implementing digital products.

The same thing happened to me back in July, I lost all Connecteddrive options plus RTTI for 2 weeks. I booked the car in for my local dealer to look at it, and the day it was due to go in all the services came back online, but i still took the car in and had all the software updated.
Everything has been great ever since until the beginning of October when I couldn’t receive emails, anyway contacted BMW Connecteddrive customer services at the time of the fault and today and still the same reply, «the server is still down». which probably explains the other issues people are experiencing.
It would be helpful if everyone was to update their position once resolved so that others can get an idea or have something to look forward to.

Nemám žádné RTTI zobrazení. Vybral jsem systém vypnutý a zapnutý. Několikrát resetujte iDrive a aktualizujte připojené služby. Včera večer jsem volal Connected Services. Potvrdili, že mé předplatné je aktivní a znovu jsme prošli resety. Stále žádné RTTI. Přikládám dvě fotky. Jedno z nastavení a druhé mapy. Moje minulé BMW Nav by ukazovalo červenou, žlutou, zelenou. V tuto ranní dobu by na mapě mělo být hodně červené. Nějaké nápady?
Mám dva další problémy, které mohou nějak souviset. Aktivní detekce mrtvého úhlu funguje asi 1/10 času a vůz (iDrive, rádio atd.) se nevypne, když jsou dveře otevřené.
Četl jsem k tomu všemu manuál a myslím, že mám všechna nastavení správně.

Může to být. Myslím, že jsem vyřešil problém s tím, že se auto nevypne, když otevřu dveře. Nesledoval jsem konkrétní sekvenci událostí. Stále se snažím vyřešit další dva. Uvidím, co Connected Services vymyslí pro RTTI. Slepé místo. Stále nemohu přijít na to, proč se nespustí pokaždé, když vozidlo projíždí zónou.

právě jsem si uvědomil. Nikdy jsem v autě nedostal žádné RTTI. Šel jsem se podívat – píše se, že žádná není k dispozici.
Nic moc, ale stejně. Zmíním se o tom příště, až to k něčemu bude.

Možná vám mohu pomoci. Pokud jste nastavili styl mapy na adaptivní, RTTI se nezobrazí. Navíc v noci je velmi obtížné vidět zelené světlo.
Ale nejdůležitějším prohlášením BMW není žádný RTTI pohled s adaptivní mapou. Pouze s manuálním rozšířeným režimem

Děkuji.
Právě jsem to zkusil a vybral jsem „rozšířený režim“. Zdá se, že to umožnilo alespoň částečnou funkčnost. Všechny dálnice mají zelenou barvu, která odpovídá google mapám. Sekundární silnice jsou částečně zobrazeny. Vidím vedlejší silnice v okruhu několika mil ukazující provoz. Ale když se posunu 60 mil daleko do Chicaga, vidím jen dálnice. Moje předchozí BMW zobrazovalo provoz na všech hlavních silnicích v Chicagu. Jezdím do Chicaga několikrát za měsíc a obvykle si před odjezdem vyjedu, abych si potvrdil dopravní bídu, o které vím, že se blíží. Možná s iDrive 8 musíte být blíž?
Znovu jsem prohledal návod k navigaci. Nemohu najít prohlášení, že v adaptivní mapě není RTTI. Četl jsi to někde jinde?
