Hi Guys. I wanted some feedback on the kit from anyone who has done it? Does is make a huge difference? Are there any dyno results or tested times and speed that anyone, from experience, can confirm to back the claims. Spoke to BMW and they said power goes up from 240kw to 270kw and torque from 450nm to 500nm. Price is around R42k incl labour. Thanks

For less the 42K you can get more bang for buck !

You get to keep your maintenance plan which is potentially worth multiple times any savings with after market tuning. I would go for it.

I know aftermarket modding is much cheaper but thats not a option. I want to keep the plan.

If you can afford it, then I say go for it. :cartel:

The new DME fuel table limits will make it safer to run higher boost if you plan on running a piggy back over the tune.
It will also allow for the use of higher amounts of oxygenates in your fuel.
The above is not important if you not modding outside of MP.

If you don’t mind parting with the money then do it.
You wont have any MP issues.

A friend of mine has done it on his 340i, and with octane booster managed to make 272wkW and around 560Nm from his otherwise stock car.
He also ran a 13.1 at Tarlton on a Friday night.
I’d say the results speak for themselves.
B58 has not proven to be very responsive to JB and other piggy back tunes (from what I have heard thus far), so MPPK is definitely worth considering if you have the bucks.

For a new Car it makes sense, MPPK is worth it. When I asked about it on my 335i BMW actually said do not bother too much, car feels mostly the same on the N55 so I left it.. 272wkw is good power!!

What comes with the package?
Tune ofcourse
Upgraded cooler?
Upgraded intake?
If you have the money to part with, I say go for it. It will give you peace of mind knowing its MP friendly.

i have done around 5 of these kits for customers. every single customer has been more than happy. it sounds wicked and it takes the power to the same as the M2! Unlike the 335i power kit this has big gains and the exhaust is a full exhaust and not just back box. if you thinking of it let me know i might be able to save you a few rand with our parts department.

I say go for it, 270kw is mega power and the fact it’s motorplan friendly is a huge plus, what year is your car/mileage?

Those M3s and C63s couldn’t have been that fast with those times, or are you talking about the W204 C63 and E92 M3?
Also, were those Tarlton times done at S2S or on a prepped surface? Either way, it’s a tad bit unbelievable for a 340i with just MPPK that is otherwise «stock»

if keeping your motorplan intact is your first priority, then go for it.
try calling around, certain dealerships give discounts on the these to try and boost sales.

I have the MPPSK on my 340i, it makes a different sound but I disagree on performance. I did a lap with a 440i without the kit, there was no difference. We pulled like twin. Only sound was different. I would also say be careful, because does not have proper support for the kit. My 340i is now acting up, its like i don’t have the kit, it sounds worth than a 340i with just a performance exhaust and BMW cannot fix it. (they recently updated the software and the car is no longer performing). I even regret i have the kit. The price you were given, i doubt its for the full kit. cos my one was around R70k.

The price is for a complete kit. You can purchase the rear silencer alone but not «part» of the kit. You may have added some other M cosmetic goodies in addition to the kit. As for the performance there has been a general consensus that it does make a difference. There may have been some other issue with your car.
It may have a few extra hp, but its a pneumatic waste gate turbo (PWG) so its potential is limited without running E85 or upgrading the turbo.
Sorry for being so dumb but whats the difference between PWG or EWG?

Still a nice kit! While it doesnt make much sense to buy if youre looking for a tune these days, getting a car with it is still a nice find, I think you should have the performance intake and exhaust, check under your bumper and see if theres an ///M on the muffler- a pretty desirable part for most that want an upgrade but not a crazy loud aftermarket system. The tune is fine, you can always get an aftermarket one that pushes the engine more but nothing wrong with the m performance one and Id be pretty happy if my car had been outfitted with one
PWG and EWG are different kinds of wastegates on the n55 engine, EWG was an updated version that was electronically controlled, but more importantly there was a revised turbo that was a bit bigger as well. Stock for stock not a huge difference, EWG will get a little more gains in aftermarket tunes and has a slightly higher ceiling that can be pushed on the stock turbo. PWG still has plenty to give though- for most people difference wont matter or be that apparent. Someone who is more familiar with EWG can chime in but unless youre planning a rather large build you probably wont notice much of a difference.

And yes I have Mperformance muffler and Mperformance exhaust tips plus the Mperformance sign coming up on instrument cluster when switch on/off..

My F30 2013 335i N55 comes with M-Performance power kit.
Does it mean that I have 20hp more with tuning in DME and have forged internals.
You are getting some incorrect information. The BMW M Performance Power Kit is a BMW aftermarket kit for F30/F32 335i/435i. It has nothing to do with engine internals or wastegates.
It primarily replaces the bottom of the airfilter box with one that has an extra air hole trimmed in red plastic for effect. It mostly lets out more of the turbo sound from the engine. It has a bunch of decals and a new fancy plastic engine cover.
If you want a small performance bump, then replace the stock airfilter with a free flow washable/reusable aFe Pro Dry airfilter. See photo for part number.
Anyone with a stock intake can obtain the same effect without the decals by either buying and replacing the bottom of the stock airfilter box or cutting holes in the stock unit. Please see photos.
There are a couple different MPPK kits depending on the build date of the car. Some come with an MPPK tune installed by the dealer. Its a really small performance bump, not worth the price at all. Much better to install a real tune like a Bootmod3 Stage1. (Never install a tune on an F30 N55 without first upgrading the charge pipe because the stock CP is a poor design that will break)
Note: Answer to a common question
If a tune such as Bootmod3 is installed to an engine that has a BMW MPPK tune, it does NOT add to it. Bootmod3 saves the MPPK tune as the original tune that can be reinstalled at any time. Then it erases the MPPK tune from the car and installs a fresh copy of Bootmod3.
Here is a link to the MPPK kit for your car.
