The latest Audi e-tron hit American showrooms this past summer.
Within the flood of fully electric luxury cars entering the market, the Audi e-tron proved to be a standout.
Yes, many luxury electric cars have convenient charging, decent battery capacity, and impressive power trains.
So it’s the car itself that has to really stand out in order to be the best.
And the e-tron is that car.
Available in two different models, it’s a five-seat SUV with impressive performance, great handling, and a peerless all-wheel-drive. It’s the perfect blend of great design, luxury, sustainability, and powerful performance.
Here’s what Consumer Reports had to say about the 2022 e-tron: “Gorgeous styling, blistering performance, and Audi’s brand cachet ought to make the E-Tron GT a slam-dunk among well-heeled EV shoppers.”
And from US News & World Report: “The Audi e-tron’s potent powertrain, balanced ride, and refined cabin help it stand out in this increasingly competitive class.”
In other words, the Audi e-tron is one of the best EVs to hit America in the past several years.
Audi says the manufacturer will become 100 percent carbon-neutral by the year 2050 – so the German automaker has a lot riding on the E-tron.
What makes the Audi E-tron great? Let’s take a look:
It’s roomy and comfy.
As in lots of interior space. The front is roomy and the rear seats are “positively palatial” and the leg room is “incredible,” according to Forbes magazine. And if the car is not full you can fold down the middle seat in the back so your passengers can enjoy the added comfort of an armrest with a couple of cup holders. They will also love having their very own console that controls tri-zone air conditioning, heating, vents, and has as two USB ports plus a 12V car power adapter.
Stylish and luxurious.
You can expect an interior laden with upscale leather upholstery. And the Launch Edition takes that luxury up a few notches with elements such as a supple Valcona hide and a panoramic glass sunroof. The Launch Edition also gives you an electric steering wheel adjustment that is part of its overall serene driving experience.
That engine.
The beast within is a 95kWh battery that sits underneath the passenger compartment. It feeds not one but two electric motors and churns out a total of 300kW. All that power means you can get from zero to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 124 mph.
It’s easy to charge.
You enjoy an easy – and sustainable – charging experience with the Audi e-tron. That’s because two charging points are located on each of the vehicle’s front wings. The sockets, which are revealed with the touch of a button, connect the car to a home AC charger. You also have access to fast DC charging stations across the land that provide recharging to 80 percent of capacity in just about 30 minutes.
Cutting edge tech.
The cabin is state-of-the-art in terms of technology. The five-seater dash is loaded with high-resolution screens that contain Audi’s digital gauge cluster (aka the Audi Virtual Cockpit) including two touchscreens in the center. You’ll bask in the voice-controlled operating system along with the wireless handset charging. There’s also the incredible NMI navigation plus sophisticated parking with a 360-degree display that makes life easier. With the Launch Edition, you also get high-tech Matrix LED headlamp and a camera-based traffic sign recognition plus a 360-degree camera with panoramic and bird’s eye views of the car to help you park with ease. The e-tron’s infotainment system is presented via those dual touchscreens – an upper 10.1-inch display and a lower 8.8-inch touchscreen. That upper screen gives you access to the standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps as well as an available Bang & Olufsen audio system. And the bottom screen is used primarily for climate settings.
