Just bought my ’21 Q5 and and have been doing a lot of reading on everything I can buy for it — lol!
Given that as a used vehicle, nothing comes with for free. I have to pay for everything from Day 1. Wondering what other forum users think about the product/service.

Speaking from experience of a few years — admit Audi Connect maybe abit different now (I’ll find out more over wkend when the new Q5 arrives) but the biggest thing I missed was the traffic on maps. However it was something like £100+ so not worth it. Instead I started using CarPlay more (I bought a wireless adapter for my car as mine was wired CarPlay)
Hardly ever used the app as it wasn’t great and way behind the BMW functionality.
What else does connect give you now?

I used the inbuilt Navigation almost all of the time every day — you get the Google Maps with the Connect Licence — now that it has expired I just get the standard mapping that looks rubbish, although the Nav function still works but I cannot however load any of my locations to it from the App any more.
I seldom used Twitter or the News or Weather or Fuel Prices or the other Connect Services etc.
I use Waze now but it means connecting via USB — previously I used the Wireless charging tray for my phone and Bluetooth.
I didn’t use it enough for £141 per year if that’s what you mean.
If this car had Wireless Android Auto it would be perfect.
I have however subscribed to the Remote Services (£37 for the year) as I like to confirm if my car is locked even when I’m miles away from it, and sometimes I unlock it remotely when my wife or kids have left anything in it they need to retrieve.

Does Waze display nav on your MMI?

In the MMI — I can’t display it in the Virtual Cockpit.
When I connect the phone using USB — Android Auto automatically takes over the MMI and I can access all features of Android Auto (such as WhatsApp and Spotify etc) and the interface is excellent.
When I select the Nav tab on the Virtual Cockpit I get a real-time compass instead, whilst Waze is displayed in the MMI.
I control Waze / Android Auto fully using the rotary push-button control.

Well it would if he has drátové Android Auto. Just the same as your retro fitted system should also be able to do the same.
