seriously what a brilliant forum this is, got a flat battery today, local motoring association (RAC) came out and tested battery, dead even though showed it had a charge in it (don’t know how that works). Anyway once battery flat passenger window wouldn’t work from drivers side nor would either auto up/down function work. Checked into civinfo and within five minutes had found this page for electric window reset procedure. Awesome collection of information on this forum. Thanks to everyone who is here and who has been here before us.

I recall on watchdog that the rac was coning motorists for battery’s they did not need.

I have the answer now. This is NOT the proceedure for MK9 cars. They simply need the battery to be disconneted and the fuse (not sure which one). After that the window in our mk9 reset itself to close in the correct position.

Just fitted my heko wind deflectors and passenger window would not shut, just done this and has worked a treat, and best of all they look the ****in bees knees. One happy person here.

MK9 window issue
Zdravím všechny,
I seem to have an issue after replacing motor engine to my Civic MK9.
When using «auto» up the window closes and comes back dow leaving 4-5cm gap!
When I hold and close the window manually it’s fine — I tried the reset procedure but it’s probably not working (as already suggested)
I’m happy to disconnect battery but I’m wondering if that would not cause any problems and if it’s going to help.

Is there a proceedure for resetting folding mirrors?
Used this to rest my drivers door window which wouldn’t go all the way up , I read somewhere that it may do mirrors too ? My issue is the drivers mirror does fold up but when you unfold it goes back too far and you have to pull it round to use the mirror it also makes lots of horrible Moises too! Passenger one is fine so is there a fix for this ?

Hi folks. 2 months ago my front windows both stopped auto-working — on letting the switches go they would stop and not complete the lift/drop. If the switches were held they would go fully up or down and stop properly as usual. After a month of this the passenger side window magically sorted itself :surprise: and has worked totally normally since. But the driver side still needs the switch held to go all the way up or down. Will this fix work for me — I’d be upset if it caused more problems especially to the working one.

Would this fix my issues? From time to down if I click my switch to auto up, the window will go up an inch, then proceed to go all the way down!

Yes, that was quite an eye opener.
Don’t trust the RAC if they say your battery is beyond recovery.

Window switch driver’s side for a w
I was wondering if anyone can help me with an issue that troubles me.
I just can not open the codrivers side window from a master window switch based on a driver’s door. (Window is operating from a switch on a codrivers door)
I have checked the fuses, all other windows work just fine
It’s the only issue that pisses me off.

I just did this on my civic.
Sit on the passenger side and do everything on passenger side — passenger windows switch and passenger door open.

Just attempted after flat battery on my own fn2. Both windows were working manually ie no auto up or down but both worked of finger kept on switch.
Now driver auto up fine but pass window doesnt work at all and stuck down. Really annoying me and attempted procedure a dozen times.
Guess you have to just keep trying and hope for pot luck

Got there in the end. Checked fuses and attempted reset about another dozen times and got it all working in the end.

We keep being promised that the Verticalscope tech will reinstate the Wiki.
But whilst we wait, how many years now?
Nejprve otevřete oboje dveře a zkuste stisknout okno dolů na 10 sekund, poté okno nahoru na 10 sekund. Pokud se to nezdaří, vyzkoušejte celý postup:
1. Zapněte zapalování (II).
2. Posuňte okno řidiče nebo spolujezdce úplně dolů pomocí spínače DOLŮ okna řidiče.
3. Otevřete dveře řidiče nebo předního spolujezdce.
POZNÁMKA: 4-7 musí být provedeny do 5 sekund od sebe.
4. Vypněte zapalování.
5. Stiskněte a podržte spínač DOLŮ okna řidiče nebo spolujezdce.
6. Zapněte zapalování (II).
7. Uvolněte spínač DOLŮ okna řidiče.
8. Opakujte 4-7 ještě třikrát.
9. Počkejte 1 sekundu.
10. Ujistěte se, že UP AUTO a DOWN AUTO nefungují. Pokud UP AUTO a DOWN fungují, vraťte se na 1.
11. Posuňte okno řidiče úplně dolů pomocí spínače DOLŮ okna řidiče.
12. Vytáhněte a podržte spínač okna řidiče NAHORU, dokud okno nedosáhne zcela zavřené polohy, a poté držte spínač po dobu 1 sekundy.
13. Pomocí funkcí UP AUTO a DOWN AUTO ověřte, že je řídicí jednotka elektrického ovládání oken resetována.
Dávejme tam pozor!
