Windscreens can crack when boiling water is poured over them and a car with an engine left running could be a target for thieves. Here are some quick tips to beat the ice.

While it may seem tempting to leave your car to defrost as you drive, it is deemed as an offence under Rule 229 of The Highway Code.

• Make sure their number plates are visible
• Remove all snow from their vehicle that might fall into the path of other drivers

The rule states that snow on the roof of a vehicle is not an offence unless it flies off onto your windscreen or into the path of other drivers.

This simple solution requires just a few kitchen staples, including table salt, water and an old tea towel.

Pour one cup of table salt into a bowl and add two cups of warm water.

Use the saltwater solution to make a de-icer solution by spritzing onto car windows with a spray bottle.

Zima může být krásná, ale je těžké si ji užít, když nevidíte na přední sklo. Abychom vám pomohli vyhnout se nehodám a zraněním vašeho vozu, sestavili jsme seznam věcí, které byste měli a neměli dělat, pokud jde o odmrazování čelního skla.

UDĚLEJTE: Udělejte si odmrazovač

Vše, co potřebujete, je lahvička s rozprašovačem a pár domácích potřeb, abyste dlouho nestáli v chladu. Existuje několik různých řešení, která pomohou rychleji rozpustit led na vašem autě. NE: Nalijte si na čelní sklo vroucí horkou nebo mrazivou vodu

V tuto chvíli to může znít jako dobrý nápad udělat jednu z výše uvedených možností, ale věřte nám – není. Přelití již tak tenké vrstvy ledu studenou vodou může vytvořit ještě silnější, která vás nechá v chladu (doslova). Na druhou stranu se nedoporučuje vylévat si na čelní sklo kbelík vroucí horké vody. Přechod tak rychle z jednoho extrému do druhého může způsobit praskliny a rozbití, což znamená nejen chybějící práci, ale také získání účtu navíc, který nepotřebujete. Jediný čas, kdy byste měli zvážit polití čelního skla vodou, je, když je venku více než 25 stupňů Fahrenheita a voda, kterou používáte, je vlažná.

UDĚLEJTE: Zakryjte si čelní sklo

Abyste zabránili tvorbě ledu na vašem čelním skle, zkuste na něj něco položit. Postačí cokoliv od ručníku po velký kus lepenky. Pokud se to stává často, zvažte nákup magnetického krytu čelního skla, který vám ušetří čas a prádlo. Jen to nezapomeňte večer předtím umístit na místo.

NE: Používejte kreditní kartu jako škrabku na led
