Had my LED headlights on for the first time tonight and they are awesome. High beams are incredible. That said the regular light setting points them too low. I’d like to raise the angle up by about 15 degrees. Does anyone know how to do this?

Try coding it for EURO LED, this will fix your issue.

Yes, the right LED headlamp is a tad low, even with the Euro LED coded.
High beam is fine, only the low beam doesn’t project high enough.

I didn’t try to fix that yet.

I coded as much as I could without being able to turn on anti dazzle. They get very bright, but as the previous posted said on non high beam they are still low IMO.

Xenon and LEDs don’t have height adjustment knobs in the car. They’re self-leveling.

If don’t know if kitesurfer means some knob in the engine bay somewhere on the headlight assembly.

Even the self levelling ones with no interior adjustment can still be done like this with an alan key, can confirm as worked on M135i and F10 530d

Not sure on adaptive LEDs though.

Pop your hood and look at the top of your light assembly, it’s the white hex slot I circled in yellow.

Lups any chance this could have resolved your LED lighting concerns? I’m going to give it a shot myself, but rarely drive the car at night. Will take a few months before I know if the proposed will bear fruit.

I confirmed tonight that this didnt work for me. I read further on in the thread posted above and it seemed there was some debate as to if the car should be on or not, and if the lights should be on auto when making the adjustment.

I turned power on the car and put the lights in auto, but while I made a full turn (clockwise) it made zero movement (up or down) to the lights.

Any thoughts on what I’m missing here?

On a side note this document pulled from that thread shows the F80 lights as being different then the F82/F83. I can confirm that my lights (F80) are the exact same as the F82/F83 lights in this document.

Can anyone tell me how to adjust my headlights left to right? I have read the threads about up/down adjustments, helped a bunch, but mine are spread out to the sides, right light shining to the right too much and the left to the left too much. Is that adjustable?

Has anyone ever figured this out? After 3 yrs of potholes my right and left beam cross at a distance of about 50′.. This is really annoying. They both still move left and right with the wheel, so it’s not the motor but where they are in rest.

I have a E92 with standard xenons..

I’m no expert but I don’t think they adjust left/right. You can try removing the bulb and putting it back in if that may help. (shrug)

yea they adjust left and right.

there is a screw adjustment for up and down.

there is also one for left and right.

you have to pop off a plastic cap in the rain gutter on the side of the engine compartment just under the hood (right next to the headlight).

inside there, at a strange angle, is the adjustment screw.

the cap is on the seam where the fenders attach to the car body.

the bmw screwdriver is barely long enough, try a longer one if you have issues.

FYI you will probably need a flashlight the first time to figure out where in that hole the adjustment is. you have to poke around at a diagonal angle.

On the passenger side of my NA model, counterclockwise turns aimed the light more to the outside (right).

The up/down adjuster moved up when the screw was turned counter clockwise.
